Continuing our commitment to providing price stability for your residents and small businesses, I am pleased to announce that NOPEC will hold our electric Standard Program Price (SPP) steady for another six-month period from the June through December 2025 meter read dates at 8.929 cents/kWh. That price is expected to be below the utility’s Standard Service Offer (SSO) pricing over that time. This price stability follows a 12-month period where we held our Standard Program Price steady from June 2024 through May 2025.
In addition, for those customers that prefer even longer periods of predictable pricing, we recently updated our fixed term product prices. These prices are in line – and largely below – what is currently being offered on the Apples to Apples shopping website and come without the hidden charges and strings attached to many retail offers. Meaning your residents and small businesses can enjoy the peace of mind that NOPEC’s product variety, flexibility, no early termination charges, and no risk terms provide for up to 2 years! And they can take advantage of these competitive rates by simply calling NOPEC’s Customer Care Center at 855-667-3201, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Electric: Fixed Term Pricing (Starting May 2025)
Fixed Term Length | Ohio Edison/The Illuminating Company |
12-months | 8.500 cents/kWh |
24-months | 9.000 cents/kWh |
As we shared with you at our General Assembly meeting in November, the increase in prices is primarily driven by a huge spike in capacity prices from our electric grid operator, PJM, and is outside of NOPEC’s control. That pass-through cost applies to all Ohio electric customers.
As always, we sincerely appreciate your continued support of NOPEC and your assistance in informing and educating your residents and businesses about the benefits and protections enrollment in NOPEC provides. To that end, attached is a graphic announcing the new pricing to make it easy to post on your community’s website, push out on your social media channels or include in your newsletters.
